Chains- by: Laurie Halse Anderson

Chains is a civil war book about a slave girl named Isabel. Her old master died, and she has been sold to a new, cruel one. She scrubs the floors, washes the dishes, does the laundry, and puts up with her master's ridiculous union opinion. As Isabel works, she discover secrets that could lead to the success of the rebels. She knows that this information is valuable, and so she takes it to a confederate generals office. She tells them everything she knows, and they reward her greatly. She continues to go to the generall's office every night, but one night she meets a boy. They immediately bond, and he offers to try and escape with her. She says yes, and on the night they plan to leave, all hack breaks loose! Will Isabel and her friend be able to escape the cruel hands of slavery, or will they stay trapped in them forever????

Wildwood Post

Wildwood is about a girl named prue, a boy called Curtis, and prue's baby brother, Mac. Mac is abducted by crows, and prue sets off to find him. She goes int the impassible wilderness, the most off limit place in her small world. Upon her arival at the woods, she finds that Curtis has been following her. They continue, but they meet a pack of disorganized but bloodthirsty coyotes. They carry Curtis off, and prue is left to fend for herself. She reaches a road, and she gets a ride from a helpfull mailman, rodger. She reaches a big city, and she is told that the govoner regent can help her. Curtis, all the while, had been hanging out with the evil (but he doesn't know it) dowager governess. He is with her pack of talking coyotes, and he even helps them win a battle. After the victory celebration, he wanders around, and he comes across Mac. He is in a crib, and he is unharmed. It is at this moment that the dowager governess catches him and explained that this baby is going to be a sacrifice to the all-consuming ivy at the equinox! That's only 5 days away! And prue doesn't even know about this!! Will Curtis and prue be able to save Mac and return home, or will they be killed by the ivy??

Mckingjay Post

Now, I know that some of you are saying in your heads: urg! Not ANOTHER post about mockingjay but this is the book that I am currently reading for the fourth time... So enjoy!
(P.s. DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU HAVE NOT READ CATCHING FIRE!!!!!!)
Katniss everdeen has survived two hunger games, and district twelve has been bombed to ashes. As she and about 800 other district 12 refugees rest and try to get back to normal, she realizes that it will never be normal without peeta. When she and her fellow tributes were rescued from the scary quarter quell, they accidentally leave peeta and johanna mason behind. Cinna, Seneca crane and peeta's prep team are all dead, and Katniss thinks that their deaths are her fault. Also all of the people who did not escape the firebombs of the capitol that rained down on 12 after the games. Peeta is currently being tortured by the Capitol, and they are using a form called hijacking, where they take good memories of Katniss and make them bad. When he is rescued, Katniss goes to see him and he tries to kill her. Will peeta recover in time to fight this awful war, or will he this way forever?

Close to Famous

Foster and her mother have gotten along pretty well since Foster's father died in war. Her mom has a new boyfriend who's kind of weird, and foster loves to bake. Everything is going fine until Foster's mom tries to end her relationship with Houck. Houck is a scary Elvis impersonator, and when he hears this, he is not happy. Late one night, Houck breaks in to their house and hits Foster's mom. They leave in a panic, and three days later, they are in the small town of peppercorn. They get a place to stay, and Foster starts to bake again. Everything is well until she meets Miss Charleena, the famous Hollywood acress.

The sixty-eight rooms

Ruthie is a normal Chicagoan who just wants adventure. When she and her best friend Jack go to the art institute on a feild trip, they visit the Thorne rooms. There, Jack meets a friendly security guard who lets them go behind the rooms. As they are walking along the corridor, jack sees something and picks it up. Ruthie later finds that it is a key! They both think it is a normal key, until ruthie holds it. She begins to tingle, glow, and eventually shrink! She is small enough to walk through all of the 68 rooms, and while she is exploring she finds a diary, and another small girl entrapped in the rooms. Will ruthie be able to save the girl, and will she find out what the journal means? Read the book to find out!

Legend Post

Ledgend is a book told by two people in first person. Their names are June and Day. They live in the west coast of the united states of America. They are the republic, and they are fighting against the colonies; who live on the east coast. June and her brother Miteas were born to a wealthy family, but their parents died in a car crash when June was young. Miteas is a soldier for the government, and he is constantly going on top secret missions that threaten his life. Day was born to a poor family. He is the oldest of three: Day, Josh and Eden. They are barly scraping by, but Day is a fugitive who steals things like food and money to help his family. He is the most known, yet unknown fugitive. The republic has no fingerprints or facial ID. He is a complete mystery. When Day's brother, Eden, gets the plague, Day attacks a hospital to find the cures. He is cornered, and forced to jump out of a three story building. He barly survives, and Miteas happens to be leading the chase for Day. Day is wounded, bleeding and desperate and Miteas is right behind him. He tuns around and throws a knife at Miteas' heart. Left to bleed, Miteas slowly dies. Oh, and one thing, Day never kills. Throughout all of his crimes, he has not killed a single person. Why Miteas?

The Great Wall of Lucy Wu post.

The Great Wall of Lucy Wu is about a girl who thinks her sixth grade year will be perfect. Her snobby older sister is going to collage and Lucy will have a whole room to herself! She and her best friend Maggie are going to redecorate Lucy's whole room. Lucy also plans on being the basketball team leader.! Everything is going well until about a week before sixth grade. Talent Chang, Lucy and Maggie's enemy is starting a Chinese class that is on the same day as basketball practice! It gets worse from there. Yi Po, Lucy's beloved grandmother died about three months ago, and Lucy is still devastated. News has come from Lucy's father that Yi Po had a sister. This "sister" is going to stay with them in Lucy's bedroom. She is horrified, upset and in trouble. Will Lucy have the strength to pull through and accomplish her sixth grade year dream?
